Under the WFTO Guarantee System, Sarba Shanti Ayog (SSA) has played a pivotal role in strengthening the compliance and governance framework of the Kolaghat Socio Economic Welfare Society (KSEWS)—a women-led enterprise supported by its sister organization, Sasha. Through a structured Internal Monitoring System (IMS), SSA conducts periodic internal audits, risk assessments, and Time & Motion Studies, ensuring that KSEWS upholds Fair Trade, ESG, and worker welfare standards. SSA’s continuous improvement approach has guided the Society in enhancing production efficiency, quality standards, costing transparency, and fair wage mechanisms, while embedding Occupational Health & Safety and social security practices across its operations.
Beyond compliance, SSA’s interventions have focused on capacity building and institutional strengthening, enabling KSEWS to evolve into a self-sustaining, ethical enterprise. SSA’s support in modernizing infrastructure, promoting solar energy use, and facilitating training on design and market readiness has helped the Society align growth with sustainability. The learnings from KSEWS now inform SSA’s broader efforts to promote ethical, inclusive, and fair business ecosystems at the grassroots—where women artisans lead the way in building transparent, climate-resilient, and socially responsible enterprises.
